Our adventure, now known as Hard80s Radio, began in 1997 when Hammer and I decided to try our luck in the local radio industry. We met at a park with a cooler full of drinks and came up with the idea of presenting our personalities on the FM radio market. After a year of working together on air, a corporate media group purchased the station, and we decided to focus on online streaming. It was quite challenging back then, but we managed to host pre-recorded shows on our website and bring FM quality to the internet.
However, hosting our website and providing ample bandwidth for our listeners was getting expensive, so we had to shut down hard80s.net in 2005. Ten years later, we relaunched Hard80s Radio via a Facebook group and a podcast. With time, we noticed the need for a female voice on the show, and Shavoni joined us as a co-host. Dan Buckman, a super fan of the show, also joined as a producer and the fourth host. We look forward to entertaining our listeners with our twisted sense of Midwest life humor and taking on this crazy world we live in!
